The New Swaddle Routine

Since he was just a tiny little guy, part of Caiden's nap/bedtime ritual included swaddling him in his blanket. Once he turned a year old or so, the ritual became just that - we did it as part of the routine, but as soon as we laid him down, he'd bust right out of his blanket and make himself comfortable before drifting off to sleep. Well, now he's changed the routine on us! :) And he's done so in a very cute way. Instead of us wrapping Caiden up, he picks out one (or two or three) of his animal friends and they get swaddled in his blanket. He then holds onto them while he enjoys his milk and storytime.

And speaking of his animal buddies, the other morning B went in to get Caiden after he was awake and jabbering away through the monitor. He walked in to find Caiden "holding court" with his animals. He had arranged them all around himself and was telling them some sort of story using his "bloop bloops" (little fish water toys that he insists on sleeping with). I keep seeing this image in my head, and it just makes me giggle! :)
