Happy 17th Birthday W'ville

Our town incorporated on April 1, 1993 and has an annual "birthday" celebration each year to commemorate the event. We've lived in this town for 4 years now, but this was our first year attending the festivities! This year, the "party" was held on Saturday, March 27th. We lucked out with some beautiful weather and enjoyed a fun morning out.

We started off at the fire station headquarters for a delicious pancake breakfast. Caiden also got a special fireman's hat, balloon and checked out the fire trucks. From there, we made our way to the parade in the main downtown area. We snagged a curbside spot, and Caiden really seemed to enjoy watching the whole thing. One thing that struck us as being really odd about this parade was the lack of fire trucks and police cars!! But there was certainly no shortage of crabby parade wranglers yelling at the participants to either speed up or slow down.

1.21 Gigawatts?!?!
These poor horses... :PAnd these horses were actually dancing!
After the parade, I cashed in on a free facial and then met the boys at the park later on. We decided to try Round Table Pizza for dinner. I'd heard it was decent pizza and a family friendly place. Well, let's just say that I don't have any desire to make a return trip there. :\

All in all, it was a fun and relaxing kind of day!
