Cookie Fest '09

December 6th marked the 3rd annual Cookie Fest here at the ol' homestead.I figured we'd be more than prepared to handle lots of baking with the new oven (which has upper and lower components) and a microwave that can double as a convection oven. So I was pretty disappointed that so few people came over or even bothered to RSVP in the first place. However, I DID really enjoy the company of those who made it out! My friend Heather did a stellar job with her cut out cookie decorating skills, and Jen (along with her hubby and son) made some fantastic chocolate chip pumpkin cookies! My contribution was Cornflake Wreath Cookies, Kristi's cut out cookies, and Peppermint-topped Brownies. I finally got smart this year and baked the cut outs an evening in advance so we could get them decorated much sooner! Here are some photos from the afternoon.

Love the look of those brownies! I will definitely have to try them. And I was just thinking about those corn-flake wreaths recently - haven't made those in years!

I wish I lived closer, so I could have enjoyed the fun! Hopefully next year!!!!
