Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday to the best husband in the world! (I am a bad wife for getting this up late, but it's the thought that counts, right!?) I am very thankful to have such a wonderful man in my life. He is a fantastic father and amazing husband. How does a girl get so lucky?

B's birthday kicked off a few days early with a special Chicago themed delivery from Amanda - Portillo's hotdogs! He came home to a great big box sitting on the counter for him. The shipment included everything needed to make the dogs - including the trademark paper cap! Those were some tasty dogs!!

On his birthday proper, I treated him to some homemade French Toast. That was Caiden's first taste of French Toast and he devoured two pieces - after having had his breakfast of oatmeal and banana! After breakfast, B opened his gifts from us. Caiden got him the Simon's Cat book, and I got him a book, a cd, a silly faucet gadget and camping/hiking gear. That night we went out for dinner at a cafe just north of here. Finally, for dessert, we enjoyed one of B's favorites - angel food cake with strawberries. He let me opt for store bought, so no baking disasters this year!!
