Shortly after Cathy left, we got ourselves ready for a trip out to MN and WI to witness and celebrate our adorable godson Eddie's baptism. Even more importantly, we were going to finally meet the little guy in person!!! I've been seeing so many adorable pictures for the last several weeks and was SO eager to finally get to hold him and play with him!!!!
Aside from the flight being delayed, our travels were relatively smooth and uneventful. We even managed to travel exclusively with carry-on luggage - something I never thought possible with a toddler. :P Summer met us at the airport and we were back to her house in no time where I finally got my hands on this cuddly little baby. I had such fun holding him and cooing at him! I knew I had to get my time in then before competing with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. LOL!!
The next day we piled into two cars and started our trek to southwestern WI which is where Summer's parents live. B, Summer's hubby Reid, Caiden and the dog all piled into one car while Summer, Eddie and I drove in the other. One of Caiden's favorite things was playing with the dog while we took breaks along the way. It was a beautiful drive and we arrived in Fennimore around 6pm. Caiden enjoyed some much needed play time in the yard while we unwound from the drive. Summer's parents got back to the house not long after our arrival. I always enjoy visiting with Summer's family, and it was great catching up with them.
Saturday was the big day for little Eddie! The service was at 5pm, and I was especially excited because my mom and two of my sisters were also driving up and staying the night. It was such a nice treat to be able to see them on this trip too!!!!
After the ceremony, we went back to Summer's parents' house and enjoyed some fabulous food and great conversation. Sitting around the table with Summer, her mom and my family felt just like old times as we laughed and joked the night away.
On Sunday we spent a leisurely morning hanging out and my family came over once more before getting ready to head out. We snapped some great photos of Caiden and Eddie together. I think this one is my favorite.
B, Caiden and Summer's Dad even squeezed in a trip to the Dinky Train which Caiden just loved!
Before we knew it, it was time to say our goodbyes and pile back into the car for the trip back to MN. We hit some CRAZY weather about 20 min into our journey, but we were rewarded for it a little while later when we were treated to this amazing rainbow!!
As always, the trip was much too short and we were getting packed up and ready to leave Monday morning. I really wish we could've stayed longer, and I was so sad to say goodbye to Summer, Reid and Eddie. We have so much fun every time we visit each other!! I am especially bummed that I won't get to see Eddie more often until we move back to the Midwest. He is such a cute little guy, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment I got to hold him. :) Here are the rest of the photos from our trip.
