32 Weeks

As of Friday, I have eight more weeks to go! Can you believe it? I certainly can't!

Baby has certainly been getting very active in these last few weeks, and growing a lot! He or she is probably about 4lbs and is roughly 17-18 inches long. As of my last ultrasound (from 28 weeks) Baby is in breech position. I can definitely tell when he/she is dancing on my bladder - OUCH! Last night I started pushing back when Baby was getting a little overzealous with the kicking in that spot.

I have definitely moved into the stage where I am frequently uncomfortable. I have a lot of discomfort in my pelvic area and it radiates down my inner thighs. It feels like the muscles there are sore, but it is actually coming from my pelvic bones/ligaments. Often, it is very painful to roll over in bed or get up after sitting for a prolonged period of time. I literally have to stand for about 30 seconds before attempting to walk or else it just hurts too much. My lower back has also started complaining a lot more. I'm not surprised at all about that one - I was the same way with Caiden. I think it has a lot to do with all the upfront positioning/carrying. I definitely can't spend too much time on my feet either. If I stand too long, my back and legs really get tired and sore. I have to remember to specifically take breaks, or else I pay for it later!

I've also started running out of breath a lot more easily. Going up/down stairs really gets me winded unless I take it real slow. Even sitting or laying on the couch wrong causes breathing difficulties (e.g.: if I am reclining too much on my back vs. laying sideways).

Baby is active on and off throughout the day, but the time of day he/she is most active is when I lay down in bed at night. It's like fireworks going off in there! Or maybe a dance party...who knows. :)

I'm still pretty sure Caiden doesn't fully understand how much things are gonna change around here. He likes to "see" the baby (look at my belly), and was excited to hear Baby's heartbeat at my 31 week doctor appt. He started imitating the sound right away, and told B about it later that day. He's also been watching me go thru his old clothes and pulling out a few items that are more gender neutral for Baby. He understands that they are his old clothes, and that Baby might wear them. Luckily, he's displayed no signs of possessiveness over those items yet.

In other fun news, I set up a baby pool for you all to have some fun with! If you haven't entered your guesses yet (or want to see what others have put in so far), make sure you head over to the Baby Pool. A couple quick notes/reminders about it:
  1. If the baby doesn't arrive by Aug 24th, I will be having a C-Section that day. Keep that in mind in making your date guesses.
  2. We're back to the drawing board on boy's names, so maybe we'll pick your suggestion! :)
And without further ado, photos at the 32 week mark!

I get winded too walking up stairs. Except, I'm not pregnant. Damn. That's probably not good.

As for boy's names, I still vote for Roofus.

If it's a girl... I think Roofus works too.
