Our Tiny Little Super Guy has grown out of his Baby Bjorn, so we were back in the market for a new baby carrier. I had heard good things about both the Ergo and the Beco carriers and had narrowed my choice down to those two. Luckily, a local baby shop was having a fantastic sale and carried both options. Caiden and I hopped into the car and spent a good hour and a half trying on both carriers, walking around, asking questions, trying them on again...you get the idea. Both carriers can be worn as a front pack or a back pack. Both can only be worn with baby facing in. Both have lots of nice padding and awesome back support. The Ergo is a little more utilitarian while the Beco is a bit more on the fashionable side (complete with a wide range of choices in colors and fabrics). After much hemming and hawing, I finally settled on the Beco as it fit me better as a back pack (plus 30% off didn't hurt!). I took it home, got the boy settled in and loaded him on my back. An hour later, he was calm as could be, and I was totally comfortable! I am officially in love with this carrier!! B can wear it pretty comfortably too which is an added bonus. We get to really put it thru the wringer today as we begin our travel to Chicago. With the crazy weather roller coaster, I suspect we will not be getting out on time. Here's hoping the carrier does its job well!!

OOOH where did you find it? We've been wanting a Beco or Ergo for when the boys get here. do you know if they sold the infant insert too? :) Sounds like you got a good deal - I'd go now if I wasn't snowed in. BLAH.
I went to the Cozy Baby Boutique over in Kirkland. Have you heard of that place? It's run by a woman named Anne-Marie Spears from her home. She's not the super best customer service wise, but she has no problem with you spending tons of time trying things on and asking as many questions as you need. The Beco I got was on clearance because it is last year's model, but it's not terribly different from this year's version. And 30% off sure helps!! Her catalog and address can be found on her website: www.cozybabyboutique.com . DEFINITELY try them on to get a feel for them. I really liked the Ergo, but the Beco just fint better with Caiden. That was the decision maker for me. The Beco was just more comfy. My Beco also has the infant insert sewn in. The newer modles have a removeable insert. Have you considered the Moby wrap? It can be worn to hold twins.
I'm motivated to use my ERgo again. SOmetimes i Just forget I have it.
