Argh - I don't know why this makes me so annoyed, but it does. And I don't even follow sports!! Anywho, Seattle has its panties in a bunch over the very likely possibility of losing the Seattle Sonics basketball team. This has been making headline news for the last several months, and I am just plain sick of hearing about it!
Apparently it started sometime last year (or maybe the year before - I could care less) when negotiations fell apart around making renovations to Key Arena - currently where the team plays. After listening to all of that garbage go back and forth, now it's looking pretty good that the team is moving to Oklahoma City. There have been all sorts of efforts by local business folks to try and buy the team and keep 'em here. Why? WHY?!
For a team as crappy as the Sonics, I say good riddance! Go! I cannot for the life of me figure out why this city is so consumed with trying to keep such a crappy team. I say get rid of 'em, and let's pick ourselves up a decent pro ice hockey team. THAT would be a sport worth having here. Just get over it Seattle. See what happens when you don't want to be treated like a big city? Bwah ha ha ha!
