Grrrr....

I never thought I'd feel this way about an airport that I used to think was the best one around. But it's now official: I hate O'Hare. Something has happened there in the last several months that has made it an impossible airport to fly in and out of there. And I don't know what it is. But I can tell you that it never used to be this bad. I've recently had several flights in and out of O'Hare since October '07 and every single one of 'em has been delayed. Prior to that, I hadn't flown to O'Hare often since '06. But up to that point it had been fairly painless. Not so much anymore.

Today I am sitting at the airport in Seattle waiting for an update to my flight that was supposed to take off at 12:30. We'll have an "update" at 2pm. Apparently it's really windy in Chicago right now, and they've shut down most flights in and out of O'Hare. There is little I appreciate less than inefficiency. Sitting around the airport and waiting for an update just drives me up a wall. I wish I could be at home instead or doing something more productive. Instead, if I want to go anywhere or do anything, I have to pack up my stuff, schlep it around and lose the nice seat I've currently got next to an outlet (one of the many downsides to traveling alone).

So from what I understand, it looks like I won't be making it into Chicago until 9:30pm at the earliest. And lucky me has an 8am start on Tuesday for some all day lame-o meeting. Hate.

okay. I seriously know what you're going through. That SUUUUUCKS.I feel the same way bout Newark. La Guardia is 1,000 times better. I never get in on time in Newark, not in the 10 times I've flown in here.

Is Midway any better? Stupid wind- You want me to "take care" of it? =o)

Actually, the fact that ANYTHING is EVER on time at O'Hare is something of a miracle. There are so many flights going in and out of there that there's really not much of a buffer time between flights. Anything that gets messed up causes a domino effect for pretty much the rest of the day.
