Our weekend activities started a little early with a Thursday night dinner at Calabria to celebrate Karen's visit to town. Brian, Heather D., Karen and I all met up and feasted on some yummy Italian food. We even got to sit in this nifty little alcove and were treated to some live piano music. It was a lovely evening out and lots of fun catching up! We definitely need to find a way to import her to Redmond on a regular basis!

Friday night, Heather P. and Tamir invited us to join them for Shabbat dinner and to see their new digs. Wow-what a feast!! Everything we ate was delicious, and B and I did a good job stuffing ourselves silly. Of course, Heather and Tamir were the consummate hosts and made dman sure that we ate and drank to our hearts' content.
We also had reason to celebrate as Tamir just got his green card! Congrats again, Tamir! We also learned that H & T are fairly big fans of stand up comedy, so next time we get together, we'll be introducing them to Eddie Izzard.
Moving on to Saturday night, we joined our friends Jen and Dave (B works with Dave) at the Seattle Thunderbirds/Portland Winterhawks hockey game to celebrate Dave's 33rd bday. Since stupid Seattle doesn't have a proper pro hockey team, I rarely get to wear my beloved Blackhawks jersey. So of course, I took this opportunity to bust it out (and luckily it still fit with the ever expanding belly!) and wore it to the game. We had awesome seats for the game as Jen was able to rent the Ice Level seats since there was a group of 30 or so showing up for the celebration. Naturally, I plopped us down right in the front row and behind the glass (oh, imagine how amazing those seats would be watching a pro team play!). As the teams started skating out on the ice, I look over at the jerseys for the rival team, and I think to myself, "Wow! Those jerseys sure look like the Blackhawks' jerseys." Then I get a closer look and realize they are almost damn near identical to the Hawks' jerseys. So here I am, sitting in the midst of a WHOLE bunch of Tbird fans right behind the glass wearing what LOOKS like the opposing team's jersey!!! EEK! Fortunately I didn't get heckled too badly for it.
The game was great - Tbirds won 4-1, and we were treated to 2 fights in the 3rd period. I so miss hockey!!Finally, our Sunday was rounded out by dinner with Rob and Anastasia at Anastasia's house. We had the most delicious dish - Tuscan style peasant stew and steak. Anastasia is an amazing cook - eating at her house is always a treat! We also finally got to (sort of) meet her sister who is living with her for the time being. Her sister kept pretty much to herself, so we didn't get much of a chance to get to know her. Oh well, prolly better for Rob's sanity.

All in all this was a great weekend! I always love spending time with good friends - need to do it more often!!!
