Yesterday we made it out to the final weekend Seafair whose highlight is the Blue Angels air show. Sadly, unlike Chicago, Seattle actually charges you admission to gain access to the best viewing spots. If it was 5 or 10 bucks, I'd consider paying, but no. It is a whopping $35 per person!! I was not about to pay $70 for a 45 min air show. (To be fair, the cost also includes access to the hydroplane competition, but we weren't interested in seeing that.) I was entertaining the idea of setting up camp on I-90's bridge deck which would have aweseome views (they close the bridge to traffic for the show), but Caiden's morning nap ran long. So we set out to find a decent viewing location on the Eastside. We ended up at
Meydenbauer Beach Park in Bellevue. Some of the highlights of the location included: not very crowded which made finding a spot on the grass real easy; nice and close to the water; easy to get to; very pretty surroundings.
We thought Caiden would be totally jazzed about the planes, and I couldn't wait for the show to start to see how he'd react!
Hmmm...guess he was more interested in Tupperware than planes.

While our view was decent, it didn't provide quite the same feel as we could've had closer in. But it was definitley better than the first time we went to Seafair and saw the planes only once or twice due to our location.

Even tho Caiden wasn't terribly interested, I still thought watching the planes was way cool! Hanging out at the beach was also really nice and relaxing and a fun way to spend part of the afternoon.
