Before I get around to explaining the title of this post, lemme tell you about Saturday's activities. The original plan was to go to the Solstice Parade out in Fremont. Unfortunately, I had a very crabby Friday which lead me to feeling very anti-social on Saturday morning. Translation: this would make an exceptionally unhappy Lisa in dealing with the massive crowds the parade attracts. Besides, for some reason this year I felt like I didn't need to stare at more naked painted people riding bikes around.
So - this meant we went on a very impromptu driving adventure to the Olympic Peninsula. Had we planned our timing a wee bit better, we could've caught the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, British Columbia, but we'll have to save that for another time. It's a shame the weather wasn't a little better cuz I'm sure we'd have been treated to some amazing views of the Olympic Mtns. I'm not complaining too much because we did get to see some amazing scenery along the way and even stopped to visit a gift shop at a lavender farm. Our adventure tacked on 180 miles to the odometer and included 2 ferry trips - one from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and the other from Kingston to Edmonds.
As for the title of this entry, you guessed it!!! It's that time of year again! The time of year where Brian and I become just a wee bit obsessed with the prospect of all things strawberry and go out to Remlinger Farms and pick berries to our hearts content.

I didn't take any pics this year, but I assure you - these pictures are a VERY accurate representation of how many berries we picked again this year (that's 25 lbs of strawberries you're lookin' at!). I mean, for $0.75 a pound how can you NOT go a little nuts?
I've already made my strawberry bread. Tomorrow I make homemade strawberry ice cream and then the jamming begins!!! Mmmmm....strawberry jam!
