Christmas Cookies!

What better way to kick of the holiday season than by baking cookies, right!? I thought it would be great fun to bake with Tara and Christina while they were here for Thanksgiving, so I asked them to pick out a couple of their favorite recipes for us to make on Friday! As for me, I treated myself to a few new baking tools. The first thing was a cookie press or spritzer. I haven't used one of these gems since I don't even know when. All I remember is the 70s era packaging on the one mom had stowed away in her kitchen cabinets. I also got some new cooling racks, so now I can make even MORE cookies! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to try out the new press, and I wasn't disappointed!

While I worked on my red and green spritz cookies, Tara and Christina tag teamed on peanut clusters and Russian tea cakes. (Yes Larry, I know - you are wondering why you haven't gotten any in the mail. I'm afraid this batch is destined to stay in WA. Sorry!!) Everything turned out really well, and use of the oven was well coordinated. :)

But no little story would be complete without sharing a new Caidenism. :) The next morning, Caiden kept asking for some "fingertips" to eat. After we confirmed that he was indeed asking for fingertips, I finally asked him to just show me what he was talking about. He led me into the kitchen and pointed to the peanut clusters! LOL! What an imagination, eh?!
