At What Age Do Fetishes Develop?

Cuz I have a feeling Caiden will someday have what he thinks is an inexplicable desire to travel to Morocco (or somewhere near there) and also insist that any future girlfriend/wife be a proficient belly dancer. At that point I'll need to drag out some photos and explain to him that this has been a deep seated obsession starting at the tender age of two. :)

So now that you're good and confused, lemme take a moment and clue you in. One of my (new) favorite restaurants is a Moroccan restaurant called Marrakesh. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, I love to share the experience with people who haven't been there. Recent converts include my sister Cathy and niece Christina. And the latest crew introduced to Marrakesh were my in-laws. :) One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that you don't just go for dinner, but you also get treated to a belly dance performance.

And who in our family has taken quite the shine to said belly dancers? Why that would be young master Caiden of course.

I kid you not, our boy becomes positively entranced the moment the belly dancer starts her show. The first time he saw a belly dance performance at Marrakesh, he was spellbound. He was literally running around and behaving like a typical 2 year old, but the moment the dancer came out, it was like he was star struck. He sat down and paid rapt attention to her entire performance. This time was even better as the dancer took a special liking to Caiden and dressed him up in her scarves. The look of pure adoration on his face was just priceless!!

And as for these photos, I'll just let them speak for themselves. :)

Funny. Most places like that here in the midwest just serve beer, and they usually have minimum age requirements for those patrons who plan to slip dollars into the staff's clothes.

Never would have thought of one of those places as "family fun" but... hey why not! I guess the west coast is really a lot less conservative than I last remember it!

FYI, I tried to hand her the tip, but she wanted us to put it in her waist band. She wouldn't take it any other way. I felt odd putting a tip there with my parents next to me, and then encouraging my nephew to help, but that was the way it was. We all had a good laugh.
