Only One Week Left

I can hardly believe my maternity leave is fast approaching the end. Has it really been nearly 5 months since Caiden was born? Amazing how quickly these months have flown by. My days are going to feel so strange when it's not just him and me hanging out together all day long, tho I'm sure it will make the time we spend together all the more special. :) Ok - enough on this topic. I hate thinking about it, and I wanted to blog about what else we've been up to lately.

Short list:

• I've got flat feet. Yep - I've got the family curse and have started wearing custom orthotics. Yay MS and their generous coverage for this lovely addition to my footwear!
• My hair is falling out at a fast and furious pace. I'd only heard about this lovely perk of the postpartum period well into my pregnancy. I swear I am going to end up with a bald spot at the rate my hair is fleeing my scalp.
• Super massive huge photo project. Every few years I get a bug up my butt to organize pictures. This time around it was all about finally printing pictures from our digital camera (4 years worth of photos) and getting them into photo albums. 1500 photos and 8 albums later and I'm almost done. Just need to select my top 200 of Caiden and get those printed out and into the album. Note to self: do NOT wait another four years to do this again.
• Mild fits of re-decorating. We ditched the old coffee table and replaced it with a trunk. Less hassle to clean and WAY more storage space. Also added a nice area rug. And I'd be terribly remiss if I didn't mention the new 42 inch flat screen LCD TV that has made a lovely addition to the family room. Most recently - changed up the color scheme in the master bath and added sage green rugs and towels along with a pretty piece of metal wall art.
• Took a trip out to Mt. Rainier and hiked the Nisqually Vista wildflowers trail down at the Paradise entrance. Got the boy bundled up nice a warm as it was a balmy 55 degrees at the 4,000 foot elevation. Note to self: warm the boy's face up before nursing. Chilly little mouth!!
• Flew to Chicago to hang with the family, attend a wedding and get Caiden baptized. I'll cover that trip in a little greater detail in another entry.
• Began a love affair with avocados. Where have you been all my life you luscious little green pieces of heaven?
• B and I had a lovely date night with the Dark Knight while our friend Carrie graciously babysit the little man.
• Finally got our grubby little hands on our very own Wii Fit. Only took 3 friggin' months to get it!!
• Got sucked into the Twilight madness. Currently on book 3 of the saga. Entertaining, but not the best writing. Curious to see how the movie will turn out.

I think that just about sums it up. I'm sure there are plenty of other things we've been doing that I totally forgot about, but this'll do quite nicely for a recap. :)
